There are a limited number of spots available. The festival will grow each year as it becomes bigger and better.

About the Festival

The Geelong Comedy Festival will take place annually at the end of October; which this year will be the Thursday 31st October to Sunday 3rd November.

The main aim of this Festival is to bring comedy to Geelong and make it accessible to the artist and the public.

Our Festival takes place in the coastal city of Geelong, an hour south of Melbourne. Geelong is the second largest city in Victoria with a population of over 250,000 people.

We currently have venues that are between 40-150 seats. All venues are within walking distance to each other on the thriving entertainment precinct of Little Malop Street.

Fees & Ticketing

We believe an artist should be able put on a show without ending up in debt.

Geelong Comedy Festival will have:

$0 REGISTRATION FEE

$0 VENUE HIRE FEE

As mentioned above, the festival is about accessibility for both the artists and the public.

In lieu of flat rate venue hire & registration:

75/25 Ticket Sales Split

75% to the Performer

25% to the Festival

We have a suggested ticket price of $25 to $30, to maintain affordability and encourage the public to see multiple shows. With this in mind we believe there is plenty of opportunity for artists to make a profit. If you would like to price your tickets lower than this or offer discounted tickets the 75/25 split will be calculated based on the suggested $25 ticket price, this is to deter unsustainably low ticket pricing.

What we expect from you (the performer)

First and foremost we expect you to put on a stellar show and enjoy doing it. Sold out shows and very happy audiences are always a plus, so we expect you to promote your show leading up to and throughout the festival.

Whilst the festival organisers will promote the festival as a whole, the active promotion of your own show will greatly influence the success of your shows.

Any promotion of your show will need to include the Festival guide; with the aim being that any artist's individual promotion of their own show will also promote all artists' shows at the Festival, creating a mutually beneficial relationship for all.

Performers at the Festival will be given preference to spots on Anything Goes Entertainment’s weekly Friday Night Shows at The Brewery in Geelong to help promote their shows in the lead up to the Festival.

You are to provide any promotional material you have to us such as; trailers, posters, blurbs, reviews for us to use for promotion of the Festival.

Check emails leading up to the Festival to ensure your show runs smoothly and kept up to date with relevant info about the Festival!

What we will provide (the organisers)

Physical things we will be providing for all venues: Basic gear; lights, microphone/stand, stage, speakers with aux cords, etc.

A door person and ushers who will be on hand during your show. This person is purely to scan tickets and assist audience members.

The Guide

We will print and distribute a Festival guide both digitally and physical copies.

This will include an image and small blurb for all shows; there will be NO additional advertisements offered to comedians for purchase in the guide, with the only advertising in the guide being from sponsors and local businesses. All performer’s  image and blurb will be the same size, with the aim always remaining that everybody is on the same level in this Festival.

Website/ticketing

We will run a website and ticketing service for all your shows and tickets, with constant updates on ticket sales being given to artists.
