2024 Geelong Comedian of the Year Steven Bradshaw is coming to this year's Geelong Comedy Festival to tell the story of the time his dad tried to sue him over a joke. Playing at Manhattan Bar on 2 November, his show simply titled “My Dad Tried to Sue Me Over a Joke” goes in depth on what the joke was, how it came about and the legal fallout. He also jokes about his Polynesian roots, dating life and growing up in the Western suburbs of Melbourne.

Steven Bradshaw has quickly become one of Australia’s fastest rising comedians, headlining shows across Australia and New Zealand and sharing the stage with the likes of Dave Hughes, Jimeoin, Peter Helliar, Lizzy Hoo and Dane Simpson. His show speaks to a viral online moment early in his career when one of his jokes found its way in front of his dad, and eventually in front of his father’s lawyers.

A “unique and darkly hilarious legal drama”
