Geelong Comedy Festival Show Application 2026

Festival Dates: October 22nd to 25th 2026.

Application Deadline: 2nd June 2026

The Geelong Comedy Festival returns for its 4th year in 2026, and we’re looking for comedians and performers who want to be part of a growing and exciting comedy scene in regional Victoria.

We’re a curated festival based in the heart of Geelong; Victoria’s second-largest city, with a population of over 290,000. Our focus is simple: to support great shows, build community, and bring live comedy to new and growing audiences.

We work with a range of venues across the Geelong CBD, from intimate 30-seat rooms through to 150-capacity spaces, and aim to match each show with the right spaces.

Whether you’re touring a proven show, debuting a new hour, or part of a sketch or improv group — if it’s funny and you’re passionate, we want to hear from you!

Applications close 2nd June 2026.

Fees & Ticketing

At the Geelong Comedy Festival, we believe artists should be able to stage their shows without going into debt. There is no registration fee and no venue hire fee.

Instead, we operate on a 75/25 ticket split, with 75% going to the performer and 25% to the festival.

We recommend ticket prices between $25 and $35 to keep shows accessible and encourage audiences to attend multiple performances. If you choose to price below this range or offer discounts, the split will still be calculated based on a minimum ticket price of $25 to ensure consistency across the program.

Each show will receive a small allocation of complimentary tickets, and all performers will receive a festival pass, allowing entry to any non-sold-out shows as well as access to artist discounts across festival venues.

What We Provide

All venues are fully equipped with seating, staging, lighting, microphones, PA systems, and basic connectivity. Festival volunteers will manage ticket scanning, front-of-house, and audience entry.

We provide a dedicated show listing on our website and ticketing service via our official partner, Eventbrite, along with regular ticket sales updates in the lead-up to and throughout the festival.

A detailed venue information sheet outlining specific technical capabilities for each space will also be provided, noting that details may be subject to change.

What We Expect From You

Above all, we want you to put on a great show and enjoy the experience. We do expect artists to actively promote their shows both before and during the festival, as strong ticket sales are a shared responsibility.

If selected, you’ll need to provide all required show details promptly so we can build your listing and ticketing page.

Due to tight scheduling across venues, bump in and bump out must be achievable within 15 minutes unless otherwise arranged, and shows should be able to set up and pack down efficiently.

All promotional material must include the Geelong Comedy Festival logo. Performers may also be offered spots on Anything Goes Entertainment shows in the lead-up to the festival to help promote their show. Artists are expected to stay across festival communications to ensure everything runs smoothly and to honour their commitment once programmed.

Standard show length is 50–60 minutes unless otherwise agreed.

Application Process

Submitting an application does not guarantee a place in the festival. We carefully curate our program to select shows that best align with the spirit and vision of the festival.

This is not a first-come, first-served process — so we strongly encourage you to take your time and submit a thoughtful, well-detailed application.

Applicants will not receive a response before the closing date, with first round offers released by 16th June 2026.
